Move a server to another PC

You can move a server to another PC and keep its address. You need the same LanWarp account on both PCs.

Copy the server folder

  1. Quit LanWarp on both PCs

Right-click the LanWarp icon in the Windows notification area and choose “Quit LanWarp”. Closing the window is not enough if LanWarp stays open in the background.

  2. Copy the server folder

On the old PC, open this folder in File Explorer. Each server has its own folder inside it. Copy the folder of the server to the same place on the new PC, for example with a USB drive.

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\LanWarp\servers\

Paste it in the address bar of File Explorer and press Enter.

  3. Open LanWarp on the new PC

Sign in with the same account. The server shows up with the same address and the same world.

Other options

If the app shows “Files not found” for a server and you don’t have its folder:

Recover PLUS

On Plus and Pro, press “Recover”. LanWarp downloads the cloud copy and recreates the server on this PC with the same address and settings.

Start over

Creates a new world with the same address. On the Free plan the previous world can’t be recovered from the app, because its backups are only on the old PC.
